Job Description

Since 2015, papernest has been transforming the way people manage their contracts, making subscription, management, and switching simple through one smart, intuitive platform.

With over 900 employees, we are strengthening our position as a European market leader. 

As aStrategy & Operations intern, you will assist the Finance Operations Specialist in the daily tasks (customers payments & invoicing), starting from June/July 2026.

Your responsibilities : 

1. Billing & Revenue Operations

  • End-to-End Cycle Management: Lead the full billing process, from distributor data acquisition and normalization to payment file issuance.

  • Financial Integrity: Perform rigorous audits of calculations and data sets to ensure 100% accuracy before invoicing.

  • Banking & Reconciliation: Manage SEPA/Direct Debit transmissions and reconcile bank settlement files to monitor cash flow in real-time.

2. Internal Control & Process Automation

  • Control Framework: Design and deploy internal monitoring tools to ensure exhaustive data synchronization across all platforms.

  • Operational Efficiency: Partner with the Tech team to automate manual workflows, mitigating operational risks and scaling internal tools.

3. Recovery Strategy & Payment Innovation

  • Strategic Collection: Analyze payment failure patterns and propose structural solutions, such as invoice splitting, to enhance successful debit rates.

  • Payment Roadmap: Research and implement alternative payment methods to diversify collection channels and reduce churn.

4. Cross-Functional Synergy

  • Key Liaison: Serve as the strategic bridge between Customer Care (dispute resolution) and Tech/Product teams (system optimization).

  • Proactive Problem Solving: Transform complex operational hurdles into scalable strategic improvements.

Your profile : 

  • With a background in business or engineering, you have initial experience in project management and/or operations, ideally within a start-up.

  • Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to process complex financial datasets with high attention to detail and precision.

  • Strategic Proactivity: A "builder" mindset with the curiosity to question existing processes and the initiative to propose innovative solutions.

  • Operational Agility: Capable of managing high-volume recurring tasks while simultaneously leading long-term optimization projects.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced command of Excel/Google Sheets; a strong interest in data tools (SQL, BigQuery)

  • You are fluent in French and fluent in English, Spanish is a plus.
